iPhone 12: this is what Apple’s new smartphones will look like [rendering]
There is a lot of talk about the iPhone 12, thanks to the continuous design studies and 3D reconstructions that continue to arrive day after day, more and more precise and responsive to the expectations of the technical datasheets of the devices.
Among the most active leakers the team of EverythingApplePro who created very accurate 3D renderings. They show the new Apple flagships that announce themselves with a design similar to that seen on iPad Pro, that is, with square sides.
The computer reconstructions of the 5.4 “iPhone 12 tell us that the phone should be smaller than expected, very close to the size of the new iPhone SE (which has a 4.7” display but with a 16: 9 format and old-style frames).
The iPhone 12 Pro will have a new colour, the navy blue, which will replace the Midnight Green seen on version 11. The glass on the back will have a matte finish so as to protect the smartphone from fingerprint marks.
The displays of the iPhone 12 will be completely renewed. All four models will have narrower notch OLED screens, while the Pro series can count on the 120Hz refresh rate.
In addition to the screens, the rear camera will also be an important differentiator between the basic versions (12 and 12 Max) and the two Pro (Pro and Pro Max). The Pro models will have a LiDAR sensor, faster autofocus (said to be 2 or 3 times faster than the current one) and portrait mode for videos.
The tests of a 64 Megapixel sensor Apple’s engineers would have been rather doubtful, so much so that the Cupertino house could opt for the 12 Megapixel lens, for a larger sensor, capable of improving the quality of the shots and, above all, the night mode.
The telephoto will be present only on iPhone Pro models, and the zoom will reach 3x (iPhone 11 currently reach 2x) and it will also support night mode. Apple is working on periscopic lens designs, which however should not be used until 2021.
Jon Prosser, the leaker he has provided in the last few days and more information related to the video we publish above, also takes stock of the names of new devices: the four models will be called iPhone 12 (with 5.4 ″ display), iPhone 12 Max (or maybe 12 Plus, 6.1 “), iPhone 12 Pro (6.1 ″) e iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7 “).
The “basic” models of the iPhone 12 will have displays made by BOE while the two Pros will integrate 10-bit panels from Samsung. Interesting news also arrives about the price: iPhone 12 is expected to start at $ 650, $ 50 less than the iPhone 11. All four models will have 5G connectivity, which will offer the base model even better value for money.
